our promise…
Amini means “believe” in Swahili. We chose this name because we promise to always be a business that puts taking care of the earth, the oceans, and the people that live on it at the forefront of everything that we do. You will never have to question our integrity or our intentions. We promise to give 10% of our profits back to the world. Whenever you buy an Amini suit, you are getting (and giving) so much more than that. Depending on where our profits go that month, you could be helping homeless children in Kenya get a chance at an education and brighter future, or helping coral gardeners have the funds to replant coral in our oceans, or so much more. We will always keep you in the loop on where the profit are going. We promise you will never be in the dark, and we promise your purchase is making an impact.
our purpose…
Our entire purpose behind this brand is to positively impact this earth, and the people on it. By taking the trash out of our oceans that is causing extreme damage, and repurposing it into swimwear that goes back into the ocean, we want to change the narrative. The ocean quite literally gives us life. Roughly 70% of our oxygen comes from the ocean, and the actions of humans of the years have been detrimental to marine life. Our best memories involve the ocean and our purpose is to ensure generations after us are given the same privilege of ocean memories. There is nothing that compares to the magic of diving into crystal clear blue waters and we want to preserve that magic.
Our process…
It may be confusing to understand how plastic bottles and fishing nets are turned into the comfortable, high-quality fabric that make up our suits, so we will break it down for you. First, the waste is collected from the ocean. Then it is regenerated, melted into plastic flakes and chips. The chips are then melted into fabric fibers and transformed into nylon yarn. At that point the yarn is made into the swimwear that you see!
We make sure that not only are our suits sustainable, but so is all of our packaging. The bags and tissue paper that you receive your suits in are biodegradable! We love this earth and want to ensure that our process reflects that. It does make things more expensive, but it’s worth it to be positively impacting our planet.

We have amazing people that we work with. We made sure that we selected a manufacturer that takes care of their workers. They are paid fairly for their beautiful work and are in great working conditions. We are in constant communication with them and love the relationship that we have formed.
Not only do we work with incredible people, but we have grown a beautiful community of like minded people. One of the most important things to us is to serve and pour into our community in any way possible.
