Washing
We like to hand wash our suits in cold water. The cold temperature keeps the microfiber shedding to a minimum. Make sure you use an eco-friendly cleaner like reef safe sun biodegradable swimsuit cleaner & saver.
if you need to spot clean any areas, use an eco-friendly cleanser and massage into the spot before washing. this is better for your suit and the environment compared to chemical cleaners and bleach.
before you put your bikini in the wash, put it into a guppy friend bag. it catches all the microfibers and keeps them out of the water that flows into the ocean. it also gives your suit a more gentle wash.
even if you didn’t get in the water, cold rinse your suit after every time you wear it.
drying
instead of using a dryer machine, we like to air dry our suits. that way you cut out the greenhouse gas emissions and your suit gets a more gentle dry. keep it out of direct sunlight so it doesn’t lose color and instead lay it flat in a cool, dry place. and just like that you dried it without using any energy!
rotate
one of the best ways to help your bikini keep it’s shape is to wait until it’s completely dry before you wear it again. that can be tough if you are going on a beach trip, so just pack a few options and keep rotating them!
